Joe LaCava is a land development and public policy consultant with nearly 30 years experience.
He currently serves as Chairperson of the City of San Diego’s Community Planners Committee
(CPC), a group comprised of the chairs of the city’s 42 recognized community planning groups.
As chair, Mr. LaCava works with individuals, communities and non-governmental organizations
to advance grass-root solutions to quality of life issues. He is a frequent spokesperson/advocate
on behalf of communities at public hearings. He is a past chair of the La Jolla Community
Planning Group, the Bird Rock Community Council, the Coastal Access and Parking Board, and
the Mayor’s Stakeholder Task Force on Wireless Facilities. He also has served on numerous
community organizations, including the Captain’s Advisory Board of the San Diego Police
Department, Northern Division; Mid-Coast Corridor Transit Project Working Group, SANDAG;
and, the MoveSD Policy Committee.
